A little reflection on 2019 and onward, to 2020!
It is hard to believe that it's 2020, in february I will have been at my current workplace for six years and in June, I will have been working in IT for 26 years.
The past year has been an interesting time and certainly one that I will remember although not always for the best reasons. Back in June I did plan on writing a "25 years in IT" blog post but I never got to it because of a major incident at work and something I never thought I could come down with - burnout.
I never thought I could be affected by burnout, mostly becuase I really enjoy IT and enjoy playing with different things but, a combination of long work hours, some personal stuff and a personal task list about a mile long I ended up hitting something of a wall and needing a break. I think it is important to talk about such things as awareness helps and I think it is important that everyone knows that it is ok to take a break from time to time.
Anyway, onward with 2020 and I do have a few plans for some content here, I also want to upgrade the blog back end to the newer version of ghost plus change up a few things on the home network. I had some really good feedback on my PFSense to Azure VPN article and the plan always was to write a couple more blogs off the back of that.
I do welcome any feedback you have, please let me know if there is anything specific you would like me to cover in the world of tech and finally, happy new year everyone!
